Solid Tumor Genetic Profiling

With a high degree of accuracy, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology is used to detect genomic alteration in the cancer tumor, including all types of mutations, such as single nucleotide variants (SNVs), gene fusions, insertion and deletions (Indels), and copy number variations. This information is correlated to potential relevant therapies such as associated chemotherapeutic medicines, targeted chemotherapy drugs, and drugs used in select clinical trials, and are prioritized based on the strength of clinical evidence. Test results provide actionable options for therapeutic decision-making related to cancer therapy.

Liquid Biopsy

In the situation when a tissue biopsy is not available, a “liquid biopsy” using a blood sample (two 10ml tubes), can be done to quantitatively detect cancer-driving gene variants and drug resistance markers. Based on the results, the best targeted cancer therapy drugs that can be used for the patient are identified, and drugs that will likely not show any benefit due to the presence of resistance markers can likewise be identified. Apart from detecting gene variants, the test quantifies microsatellite instability (MSI) status, which impacts on predicting a cancer’s predisposition to mutations as a result from impaired DNA mismatch repair (MMR) and may call for additional anti-PD-1 therapy (checkpoint inhibitors).

Oncology Pharmacogenomics

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology enables the collection of comprehensive coverage of ~200 genetic variants in 50 genes. Genetic variants have the potential to affect drug absorption, metabolism and activity. With this information, clinicians can be guided on treatment decisions regarding better choices for medications, reduction in adverse drug events (ADEs) and avoidance of trial-and-error drug selection and poor dosing.

Proactive Wellness

Proactive genetic testing offers healthy adults, who may or may not have a strong personal or family history of disease, an opportunity to learn about how their genes could potentially impact their health and focus on prevention. Test options may include the analysis of up to 147 genes that are well-established indicators of a significantly increased risk of developing hereditary cancers, cardiovascular conditions, and other medically important disorders.
